Health for north east London

The Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley, has given his support for the Health for north east London proposals to go ahead and the implementation of the proposals to help improve the safety and quality of local hospitals is now being taken forward.

The changes will improve the safety and quality of services, particularly by concentrating services on fewer sites. This will ensure that hospitals can provide the right care for the right person in the right setting, with increased senior consultants available around the clock, resulting in faster, better decisions and improved outcomes for patients. Alongside this, local people will be able to access improved GP and community services.
